Immich Configuration Update

This probably does not merrit an entire post but I spent a little too long troubleshooting this one so I figured I would post about it anyway. I have an instance of Immich installed and I use the iOS app to backup photos from my phone. I had not noticed that this was not happening for a while.

When trying to backup a photo the app would show somewhere between 8% and 21% complete and then time out. I tried a bunch of things before landing on a resolution. These included: clearing cache, enabling background refresh, deleting the app, updating the immich server version, and banging my head against the wall.

After an internet search I saw a suggestion that the client_max_body_size value not being set may be the issue. I went into my nginx/sites-enabled folder and checked the relevant .config file and sure enough this value was missing. I added the client_max_body_size 500M; to that file, confirmed the syntax looked good, and restarted the service.

When I tried backups again they went soooo fast. It was nice to see that resolved as I mentioned to Leah that she should use this service but obviously not if it is not working.

Side note: If anyone has a better configuration suggestion I am open to improving this config.
