A gut punch. Some horror movies commit to being mean to the audience and this is one of those. This is a body horror movie so you have to be up for that sort of thing.

I think the movie does a great job of establishing the relationship between the brother and sister. The adoptive mother is weird but then they have that night drinking and dancing and it seems like things can be okay for now. Then things really start ratcheting up.

The body horror is quite good in this film and the scene that everyone talks about is very hard to watch. I enjoy the deep web video tapes with the witchcraft and they alone are genuinely unsettling.

I still cannot get over the puddle scene, it just heartbreaking. I do not know if I like the almost sweet way the very end is played but it is a minor annoyance.

This movie starts weird, gets weirder, and then gets even weirder. I am excited to see the next thing from the directors.
