Week 20
General #
- Did not apply to any jobs but I did fill out some paperwork and meet with my boss to talk about next weeks activities. I’m late on this week’s week notes so I am going to work tomorrow!
- Practiced guitar for at least 30 minutes each day. C chord is getting better but going from C to D remains a bit tricky. D was the first chord I learned and it still trips me up. I probably need to incorporate some more chord transition practice there.
- Took time off of studying PMP to do school work. I know I need an operating system that can run the testing software so I went ahead and installed windows in a new partition on my computer. Turns out the Mac partition on my laptop is too old and these systems do not have support for linux. I do not want to risk it with a VM. It is not a big deal to have a partition that I log into to take tests or proctored quizzes.
- I managed to get through everything I could in both classes apart from the group work. I am hoping to maintain as much of a headstart as I can to avoid feeling a crunch. I have concerns about what starting work will do to my learning capacity so I want to make each week as long as possible to help with that.
- Read a post on r/Detroit where users were posting recommendations for French Bakeries in the area. The top post recommended Chez Pierre et Geneviève and it looked promising. The site says that they import flour which really got me intrigued. Since I was technically still unemployed and could just go, I went to Bloomfield Hills to check it out. The people in front of me in line spoke nothing but French the entire time which I took as a really good sign. I ordered a crossaint for Leah, crossaint ham and cheese sandwich, and a box of macaroons for us to share but mostly for Noah. Leah was able to eat the crossaint with no issues which made me very happy. My sandwich was delicious and so were the macaroons.
Media #
- Leah and I are still watching Soap. Spoilers for this 45 year old show but their father goes to prison, breaks out, and hides in their house. The parallels to Arrested Development are just too much now it is a lot of fun. There remains some problematic stuff in here that I do not want to discuss. Some may find it difficult to separate the good from the bad here.
- Played some Overwatch. Less than usual but definitely more than next week.
- Writing this before I pull the numbers for the section below. Spotify has a twenty years of spotify thing going on now and I have been listening through my top songs. I joined Spotify in July of 2011 and my first song was “Death Cab for Cutie” by the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band.
