Earth as seen from Artemis II
I was watching a Hank Green video during my lunch today and he shared this animated image a redditor share in this reddit post. This is the combination of about three minutes of travel and you can see a bunch of really interesting details.
Some Interesting Details #
- The bright light in the sky to the right is Venus.
- There are thunderstorms flashing lightning on the top right of the earth.
- This is the earth as illuminated by the moon as the sun is directly behind the earth here.
- Since it is night you can see lights from cities along the coast at the bottom of the earth.
- Auroras are present at both poles.
- Satellites can be seen easiest near the equator. I saw them on the far left of the planet first.
The original post has a larger version of this image and there could be more not listed here. I’m also convinced the bright spot in the middle of the earth is the moon’s reflection off the ocean.
This probably should be a link post but I wanted to make sure I have the image incase of internet decay.
This is day 37 of 100 Days To Offload.
