Alice Cooper

During a call that ended early today someone added “school’s out” to the chat. I knew Alice Cooper was from Detroit but I was curious if he ever played East Detroit High School. For whatever reason there was a number of bigger acts that would play high schools back in the day. The one example I have is Bob Seger playing a benefit in 1975.

I found no evidence that he ever did play the high school but I did find something interesting. Turns out he actually grew up in East Detroit. Specifically, he grew up in a house on Lincoln near Kelly in the south-east part of East Detroit. The house he grew up in is a minute walk from the house I grew up in. We both attended Kantner Elementary School. I am basically Alice Cooper, is what I am saying.
